You can now text 911 in an emergency. It is always best to call if you can, but in the case where you are unable to make a voice call you can now text. Some examples may be: hearing impaired, can’t/unable to speak, domestic violence situation, or a witness to a crime in progress. This option is not as fast as making a voice call so if it is safe to call, please do so.
- Text-to-911 is the ability to send a text message to reach 911 from your mobile phone
- Text-to-911 is as simple as entering 911 in the “to” field of a text message.
- Don not text and drive. Pull over to a safe area first.
- Text-to-911 should only be used in situation where you are unable to call or it is unsafe to make a voice call.
- Do not Text-to-911 to “test” your phone. It is for emergencies only.
- Please be prepared to answer questions and keep messages short and simple
- Not all cell phone providers offer Text-to-911

When a disaster happens you need to have a plan. A good way to be prepared is to follow the Do 1 Thing program. Each month they provide steps to prepare yourself for an emergency. Please take the time to go to their website by clicking here and look over the information.

Weekly Garbage Service
Each home is allowed one 95-gallon container and one recycle bin. Containers are to be stored on private property at all times except on the regularly scheduled day of pickup which is on Wednesday. All refuse must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day. Once the refuse has been picked up please move the container back to your designated cart storage area. Yard waste will be collected on an Every Other Week basis April thru November on the regular collection day. All yard waste must be placed in biodegradabe paper bags or placed in 30-gallon cans, clearly marked as yard waste. Stickers are available in the Village Hall. Branches and twigs smaller than 2" in diameter must be placed in bundles no larger than 2' by 4' long or 50 pounds pre bag or bundle. Something to Note
If you are buying or selling a home in the Village you will need to schedule a free sewer inspection with the Village prior to closing. If there are any violations they must be addressed and corrected prior to the closing date and re-inspected.
